Millions of people think that their life is frustrating and a series of misses and stumbles and failures but there is one thing that will set you apart from millions of people which is your ability to keep going after your goal, no matter how difficult the road gets with each step.

There is a quote by Wayne Gretzky, who is remembered as one of the most dominant and successful athletes in the history of the sport. The quote is "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take". So today, in this article, I will share some reasons that help you to ensure why you have experienced failures and struggles along the way.

The most common reason for failure is that one does not know how to achieve the goal. The problem is not in the goal but in the effort necessary to achieve it. We should strive to achieve the goal with the least effort, by the simplest means if we really want to succeed. The greatest problem is not wanting to achieve the goal, but not knowing how to attain it.

How do we prevent failure? We need to know which failures to prevent. Failure can be defined as a loss or misperformance in the achievement of a goal. A goal could be something you want to do like to earn a lot of money, something you are doing, or something you are expecting. The first step is to accept you have a problem. It goes without saying that you can't understand your failures unless you first admit that you aren't doing things right, that's where the real work begins.

In this article, there are 5 reasons which help you to analyze why you feel like a failure. After analyzing, try to eliminate those reasons from your life and then see how you achieve much greater things in your life automatically.

Top reasons for failure

1. Fear Failure

The first reason you keep failing is that you fear failure. This is the worst of all reasons. At one point in your life, you are going to fail or miss out on some opportunities which help you to achieve your goal, actually, you are going to fail over and over again on your goals. You are going to face hundreds of struggles and failures as a matter of fact your level of success depends upon the willingness of the risks and failures you want to take. So, why waste your energy fearing the thing that is bound to happen once in your life.

I believe that fear of failure and procrastination is the most important reason that most people don't do what needs to be done. No matter how many times you hear it, there is nothing more difficult to take in hand, more doubtful of success, or more dangerous to handle than to take a step that leads away from the familiar, the safe, the easy, the certain, to a place that is unknown, that we would rather not go.

In order to become a successful person, you have to watch your mindset so that you don't view failure as a fear. If you change your mindset and attitude, failure can become a learning opportunity. Learn from your failures, don't fear them. Failures can help you to become successful in your life. Develop your mindset that you are worthy to be successful, failures are just obstacles that you have to cross in order to be successful.

Each time you fall short or fail, take some time to think about why it happened and then change the strategy to move forward so that you have a better chance for success next time. That's how you can learn from your failures. When you are not afraid of failures, you are able to move forward confidently and way too quickly. Always ask questions "What did I learn?" "What will happen if I do things differently?"

2. Giving Up Too Easily

The second reason why most people fail is that they give up too easily from fear of failure. Reaching your goals is always not easy, but you have to keep trying to reach your goals. The worst thing you can do is to give up at the first line of trouble and that's where most people go wrong. Giving up on your goals is very easy but when you are trying your hardest for your goals, that's the best thing to do.

When you first began the task list, you started off strong. You were excited about the challenge. You took on the tasks you thought would help you with your research and you gave them your all. However, once the task list seemed to grow, and the tasks seemed to be overwhelming, your excitement faded, and you thought to yourself, "I can handle a few more tasks today, even if they are just small ones."

To become successful in your life, you must take proactive steps that will help you to stick your goals.

For example, You might be setting goals that are too ambitious and if you are not reaching your goals because they feel overwhelming, try to set a more realistic and smaller goal to start.

The first lesson for today is that when you first start out on a task list, and you start to get overwhelmed by what is on the list, it's important not to give up on it. It's important to keep going to keep your momentum going. It's important to not become disheartened by the fact that you might not be able to get everything done. After all, this is the most important skill that you are learning, and it's important not to become too discouraged, and not to give up too easily.

3. Afraid To Ask For Help

Another reason most people fail or fall short is that they are afraid to ask for help from others. This is an example of a fear that most of us have experienced. The fear to ask for help is a very common experience. It is in our nature to want to be the one to do things. We feel that if we ask someone for help they will tell us to do something we don't want to do or that we will get hurt.

There is a reason why many people are afraid to ask for help, be it from the teacher, their boss, their friends, or family, it's the fear of being rejected that holds us back. The fear of being rejected is based on the premise that there is an inherent flaw in the self, which is the core cause of our personal failings. If you are a perfectionist, the flaw in the self is a lack of perfection. We feel, therefore, that our flaws are so deeply embedded and interwoven with our personality that it is going to be impossible to remove them and that we are doomed to fail.

Human beings are social by nature. Social, building esteem, and finding fulfillment are three of the five essential needs human must address in order to thrive. Not only this, asking for help increase your likelihood of success but it also helps you to find meaning and purpose in your life.

Remember, if you are going through a certain situation, there are many other people who have gone through the same situation. Think about all the people you know and ask them
"Have you ever been in this situation?" and "What did you do?" It's astonishing how many people had the identical situation you have and they will help you. So, ask yourself who can you ask for help to reach your goals.

4. Letting External Factors Affect You

Another reason many people continually fail is that they let external factors affect them too much. When you work towards your goals, there will be countless distractions and roadblocks. You are going to hear a lot of advice from people and not all of them will be good and helpful. So, it is very essential that you learn to focus on what you control and allow yourself not to be distracted by external factors. The main thing is that you are the controller of your reality.

Whatever you thought comes in your reality. If you change your mindset from negative to positive, positive things will happen. So, work on your thoughts and mindset.

5. The SMART Goal Formula

The last reason you might be failing is that you don't use SMART Goal Formula,

What are SMART Goals?

SMART Goals are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. Use this acronym SMART to evaluate every goal you set. If you don't have a clear plan for your goal and the discipline to follow that plan, you're going to repeat the same thing over and over again but by using the SMART formula, you can achieve your goals quickly and efficiently as possible.
